General - She returns to the Tar Heels in 2000 as the most dominant attacking midfielder in all of college soccer...Tar Heel fans are eagerly anticipating her return after she had to red-shirt last year due to a nagging hamstring injury that simply wouldn't heal...ranks 12th in Carolina history in career points with 115, 13th in career goals with 41 and tied for 20th in career assists with 33...three-year starter and three-year returning letter winner for UNC...preseason All-America selection by Soccer Buzz and College Soccer Weekly Online in 1999...a tremendous talent and three-year letter winner who was hampered by a hamstring injury in 1997 which limited her playing time the last one-third of the season...that same injury eventually forced her to the sidelines for the 1999 campaign...the premier freshman player in the country in 1996...began the season as a starting forward for the Tar Heels but was switched to the attacking center midfield position halfway through the season...that's when she really came into her own and starred as a member of Carolina's NCAA champion team...has stayed at the attacking midfielder position since then...a 1997 and 1998 preseason first-team All-America selection in the midfield by Soccer Buzz.
U.S. Women's National Team Experience -Member of the U.S. National Team from 1997-99, earning four caps...trained and played in 1997 with the United States Women's National Team during the Victory Tour presented by Nike...was one of eight Tar Heel players chosen to play for the U.S. under-21 Women's National Team in the Nordic Cup in Denmark, August 4-8, 1997...was a member of the 1998 U.S. Under-21 Girls National Team which trained in Portland, Ore. July 5-12 and then played a series of international friendlies...selected to play on the 1998 U.S. under-21 women's national team which competed in the Nordic Cup in Holland August 3-9...that was her third successive appearance with the U.S. Nordic Cup team...played with the full National Team against Italy and started in the contest in 1998...played and started one game for the U.S. National Team in 1999...competed for a spot on the World Cup Team in 1999 while in residency camp in Orlando with the National Team.
1999 Season - -Red-shirted because of a nagging hamstring injury,,,retains a full year of eligibility on the collegiate level which must be played during the 2000 season.

1996 Season -The level of play she provided the Tar Heels with in her freshman year was often beyond description...she was the team's fourth-leading scorer with 39 points on 12 goals and 15 assists...her 15 assists shared the team and ACC lead...she also had five game-winning goals last season...she started all 26 games for the Tar Heels in '96...she was named the National Freshman Player of the Year by both Soccer America and Soccer Buzz...she was named a first-team All-America by Soccer News and Soccer Buzz and a third-team All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America...she was also tapped for Soccer America's All-Freshman Team and for the Freshman All-America Teams chosen by Soccer News and Soccer Buzz...she was named the 1996 Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year and to the first-team All-ACC squad...Soccer Buzz named her the Southeast Region Freshman Player of the Year...she was first-team All-Southeast Region as named by Soccer News, the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz...she was also named by Soccer Buzz to its Southeast Region All-Freshman Team...she was named to the All-Tournament Team at the NCAA Tournament and was also chosen for Soccer News' All-NCAA Final Four Team...Schwoy was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week on October 29, 1996 after being named the most valuable offensive player of the Wisconsin Soccer Invitational...she was the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week twice during the 1996 season-on September 2, 1996 and again on October 28, 1996...she was named to All-Tournament Teams during the regular season at the adidas/Eurosport Carolina Classic and the Wisconsin Soccer Invitational...was also named by Soccer News to its 1996 Elite 11's at the midfield position...had a goal and an assist as Carolina beat Duke 2-1 in the 1996 season opener...scored game-winning goals against Duke, St. Mary's, Minnesota, Wisconsin and against Santa Clara in the NCAA semifinals...had a goal and two assists versus St. Mary's...had three assists versus Wake Forest...scored two goals in the win at Wisconsin...had a goal and two assists in an ACC Tournament semifinal victory over Virginia...had two goals and one assist in the NCAA first round versus William & Mary and one goal and one assist in the NCAA second round versus James Madison.
Prep - A tremendous striker at McDonogh High School who was the Parade National Player of the Year her senior season...also Named the 1995 NSCAA/Umbro National High School Player of the Year...a three-time All-America selection by National Soccer Coaches Association...member of the Under-20 National Team...twice named player of the year in Maryland...was the Baltimore Sun's 1995 High School Athlete of the Year...a Parade All-America in 1995...a two-time Metro Player of the Year choice by the Baltimore Sun...established state records for goals in a season (69) and in a career (198)...had 49 goals and 21 assists in her sophomore year alone...began her junior year by scoring a goal 49 seconds into the season...four-time member of the all-state team...featured on ESPNÕs Scholastic Sports America in 1994 and in a feature in USA Today the same year...played in the 1995 U.S. Olympic Festival in Denver, Colo....also participated in softball, basketball and track and field while at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md....active in student government and McDonoghÕs Varsity Captains Association....played in Sweden in the Nordic Cup in the summer of 1996.
