September 18, 2026 | Men's Tennis
Members of the University of North Carolina men's tennis team will take part in the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. starting the weekend. The event begins on Saturday and runs through September 27.
The tournament, to be held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, serves as a primary route to qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in Orlando in November.
Tar Heels Niels Ratiu, Chris Xu, Ian Mayew, Will Mayew, Sebastian Sec, Lachlan Gaskell and Kase Schinnerer will take part in the qualifying singles draw. Schinnerer and Ian Mayew will play in the qualifying doubles draw with Ratiu and Xu in the doubles main draw.

The 2026 ITA Men's All-American Championships will have a draw size of the following singles: pre-qualifying (160), qualifying (64), main draw (64) and doubles: pre-qualifying (32), qualifying (32), main draw (32).
From these groups, 10 singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists). Meanwhile, five doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists, consolation champion).
The ITA All-American Championships have been a staple of the fall college tennis calendar for more than 40 years. Seeing the nation's best players compete for individual glory, the All-American Championships became a qualifying event for the NCAA Individual Championships in 2024 as part of a two-year pilot program that went into permanent effect before the 2026-27 season.
For the 21st straight season, The University of Tulsa will be hosting the ITA Men's All-American Championships.
