Volleyball Ranked In AVCA Preseason Poll For First Time Since 2017

LEXINGTON, KY – Carolina volleyball opens the 2026 season ranked No. 19 in the AVCA Preseason Top 25.

The Tar Heels earn a preseason ranking for the first time since 2017 when they opened the season at No. 11.

UNC will face six teams in the preseason top 25 including five top 10 teams across six matches.

Carolina enters the season fresh off a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament where it went 22-9 and peaked at No. 15 in the top 25. The team returns 15 players and adds three freshmen to the mix.
