Volleyball Adds Two To Staff

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Carolina volleyball head coach Mike Schall announced the additions of Ben Alexander and Madison Williams to the staff.

Alexander joins as the technical coordinator and Williams as the director of volleyball operations.

Alexander comes to Chapel Hill after graduating from Northern Colorado where he served as the technical coordinator and a practice player for two seasons with the Bears. His duties consisted of helping with drills, playing, film collection and breakdown, statistical analysis, and assisting the director of volleyball operations. While at Northern Colorado he was a member of the 2024 Big Sky Regular Season Champions, finishing with a 28-8 overall record and three wins over P4 competition an advancing to the NIVC semifinals. He was also a part of the 2025 Big Sky Conference Championship title winning team, earning a bid to the NCAA tournament where they played Creighton in the first round.

Before that he was a manager and practice player for South Dakota State for one season in 2023.

Williams joins the Tar Heel staff after serving as a marketing manager for I9 Sports. While there she supported brand growth initiatives by planning and executing community marketing programs aimed at increasing youth sports participation across multiple markets. She coordinated outreach campaigns, partnerships, and on-site activations to drive brand awareness and registration growth. She has spent time as a select volleyball coach for JOCOVolleyball.

Williams began her collegiate playing career at Texas before transferring to NC State where she was an ACC All-Academic Team member for four seasons in a row. She won ACC Offensive Player of the Week in 2023.
