Shipp Nominated for Allstate AFCA Good Works Team

CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina junior wide receiver Jordan Shipp has been nominated for the 2026 Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team, the organization announced Monday.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes college football student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional commitment to community service, academics and athletics. Established in 1992 and presented by Allstate since 2008, the program honors players who use their platforms to strengthen communities and support causes important to them.Â
In addition to being a standout player on the field, Shipp also shines in the classroom and the community. He was a 2026 ACC Top Six for Service Award recipient, after participating in numerous community service events such as visiting the UNC Children's Hospital, participating in Habitat for Humanity and volunteering at TABLE, which provides healthy food and nutrition education to kids in Orange County since 2008.
The Charlotte native has also visited the SECU House to serve meals to patients and their families who travel great distances to UNC hospitals for life-saving procedures and serious illnesses. Shipp has also visited local elementary schools to read to kids and has helped organize back-to-school drives to provide kids with school supplies.
Academically, Shipp recently earned his undergraduate degrees in exercise science and communications, graduating in just two and half years on campus. He was a CSC Academic All-District Team selection in addition to claiming All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Honor Roll recognition. Shipp is also a Tar Heel Scholar-Athlete, AD Scholar-Athlete and earned the UNC Chancellors Jim Tatum Memorial Award, which is given to a student-athlete who has contributed to the University community through constructive participation in co-curricular activities.
On the field, Shipp was the Tar Heels' leading receiver with 60 catches for 671 yards and six touchdowns en route to earning All-ACC Honorable Mention honors during a breakout sophomore season. His 60 receptions and six receiving TDs were the sixth most in the ACC and his receiving yardage was 14th in the conference. Shipp found the end zone in four of Carolina's last five games compiling 351 yards on 31 catches during that span.
Hailing from Charlotte, Shipp recorded his first multi-touchdown game against Richmond with four catches for 52 yards and a pair of scores. He had a career-long 55-yard touchdown run against Stanford to lead the Tar Heels to the victory.
The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will be announced in September and include 22 student-athletes and one honorary head coach. One student-athlete will also be selected as team captain and receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
