Glauber & Rose Claim Freshman All-America Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina baseball arms Caden Glauber and Jackson Rose have won consensus Freshman All-America honors thanks to a pair of phenomenal debut campaigns that helped their team all the way to the Men's College World Series Final.

The rookie Glauber from Fort Mill, S.C., earned first team honors from all four major outlets that recognize Freshman All-America teams: Baseball America, D1Baseball, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, and Perfect Game. Rose, from Woodstock, Ga., made the second team for Baseball America, D1Baseball, and Perfect Game.

The pair give head coach Scott Forbes three straight seasons with at least two players earning Freshman All-America honors. Carolina is the only program in the nation to do so in that span.

Glauber put together a historic season in 2026, claiming D1Baseball's Freshman of the Year and the ACC's Freshman of the Year awards. He is the first UNC pitcher to win a national Freshman of the Year award of any kind and the first to win the D1Baseball honor since its inception in 2015.

He graduated high school early to come to Chapel Hill and went on to lead all freshmen in the nation in strikeouts (114) and victories (12) while finishing second in ERA (2.05). He was the only DI pitcher this year to have at least 10 wins and five saves and the first Tar Heel to do so since Trent Thornton in 2013.

The lefty Rose began to make his impact midway through the year and grew into one of the most important arms on a team that had the nation's 12th best ERA. At the end of his debut campaign in Carolina blue, Rose held a 2.55 ERA with 51 strikeouts and .190 opposing batting average. Only Glauber had a lower ERA on the team among the pitchers to throw at least 10 innings.

A midweek game against a quality Campbell team produced Rose's breakout performance. 6.0 shutout innings with five strikeouts and just two hits kept the Heels tied in a 14-inning marathon that they eventually won thanks to a Rom Kellis V walk-off single.
