NCAA Women's Golf Championship Starts Friday

North Carolina is competing in the NCAA Championship round for the second time in three seasons under Aimee Neff, the Bobby Galloway Head Coach for Women's Golf, and the 18th time overall.
The 2026 NCAA Championship returns to the North Course at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
The Tar Heels are the No. 11 seed and will be paired with Pepperdine and SMU in the first two rounds with Friday's tee times beginning at 4:07 p.m. Eastern.
Thirty teams and six individuals qualified for the NCAA Championship in six regionals played May 11-13. UNC hosted a regional, where it finished second to advance.
Marie Prats-Rigual made two eagles en route to a 68 in the third round and led the Tar Heels with a 10th place finish in the regional. Megan Streicher shot an opening-round 65, the lowest score ever by a Tar Heel in an NCAA regional, and finished 15th, one spot ahead of Reagan Southerland.
Carolina's lineup in round one of the NCAA Championship includes Prats-Rigual, Streicher, Southerland, Ing Iadpluem and Helen Yeung. Inez Ng is the alternate.
Streicher is playing in her 41st and final collegiate tournament. A three-time All-ACC honoree, the Cape Town, South Africa, native is Carolina's all-time leader in single-season and career scoring average. Her average this season of 70.85 is on pace to break her previous school record.
Streicher (72.06) and Yeung (72.69) hold the top two spots in UNC career scoring, and Southerland (73.33), Iadpluem (73.43) and Ng (73.54) rank four through six.
Stanford is the No. 1 seed, while Northwestern is the defending national champion.
