Women’s Lacrosse Claims Seven IWLCA All-Region Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina women's lacrosse program placed seven players on IWLCA's All-Region teams, the organization announced on Thursday. Sam Forrest, Chloe Humphrey, Kate Levy, Eliza Osburn and Addison Pattillo were named first team in the South Region, while Kaleigh Harden and Brooklyn Walker-Welch made the second team. The IWLCA will announce the 2026 All-American teams on May 21.
A Glastonbury, Conn. native, Forrest burst onto the scene last season when she was named IWLCA Defender of the Year. She is a two-time Tewaaraton Top-25 honoree, two-time first-team All-American, the ACC Defender of the Year and a member of the U.S. National Team that will compete at the World Lacrosse Championships this summer. She was also drafted with the sixth pick in the WLL Draft by the Maryland Charm. The nation's top defender, Forrest is primarily tasked with marking opponents' best attacker and has routinely held them under their season averages. She held both her marks in the ACC Tournament semifinal and final pointless.
Humphrey, last year's Tewaaraton and Honda Sport Award for Lacrosse winner, has continued to elevate her game in 2026. She currently leads the nation in goals (99) and points (144), while her 45 assists are tied for 17th. A 2026 Tewaaraton Award finalist, Humphrey claimed first-team All-America honors, ACC Attacker of the Year, first-team All-ACC and ACC Tournament MVP honors this season. She has become a staple with the U.S. National Team and will be a part of the squad that competes at the World Championships this summer.
A preseason All-America, Levy was a midseason add to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and was recently named second-team All-America. A true two-way midfielder, she had a breakout game at Virginia that saw her cause six turnovers and grab five groundballs to earn National Defensive Player of the Week honors. In total, Levy has tallied 25 goals, 11 assists, 25 groundballs (second on the team), 20 caused turnovers (tied for the team lead) and 10 draw controls.
A Castle Rock, Colo. native, Osburn has put herself in the discussion for the top midfielder in college lacrosse. The ACC Midfielder of the Year is a true two-way midfielder that excels on both ends of the field. She claimed All-America honors during both of her first two season, while being named ACC Freshman of the Year last year. Her game has only continued to elevate this season. She's scored 29 goals (fourth on the team) and dished out 17 assists (third on the team) to rank fourth on the team in points with 46. She's also grabbed 23 groundballs (tied for third on the team), caused 15 turnovers and secured 37 draw controls (third on the team). Osburn is also a member of the U.S. National Team that will compete at the World Championships this summer.
Pattillo has flourished during her sophomore season after coming on strong late in her freshman campaign last year. She's currently second on the team in goals and points with 52 and 65 respectively. A dodging nightmare for defenders, Pattillo is also effective in the ride, having caused 17 turnovers to go along with 17 groundballs.
Harden, another true two-way middie, is making her first appearance on an All-Region list. She's been a driving force for UNC's midfield this year and ranks second on the team with 80 draw controls. Harden's added nine goals, an assist, 18 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers.
A four-time All-America, Walker-Welch remains one of the best defenders in the country. She's played in 13 games this season, starting 12, and tallied 18 groundballs and six caused turnovers. Walker-Welch is widely considered one of, if not, the best low defender in the country, who has the rare ability to dictate play on defense and then quickly transition to offense, helping UNC's attack be as formidable as it is.
