Track Sets Six All-Time Marks At VertKlasse Meeting

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Carolina track and field wrapped up competition at the VertKlasse Meeting in High Point, North Carolina.
The throwers kicked off Thursday by winning the three events they entered. Myles Scott (56.05m) and Kosi Umerah (60.33) brought home the men's hammer throw and the women's elite hammer throw section. Scott notched a personal best distance during his win. Â
Spencer Young (49.25m) has thrown a personal best mark in each of the first two meets of the season. Young made her debut in the Carolina record book in 2024 and moved up ninth with her three-meter PR to win the women's javelin section of the VertKlasse Meeting.
Killian Fahy and Trevor Paschall both ran PRs in the men's 400m. Fahy improved on his existing seventh-fastest time. Paschall made his debut at number ten.

The trio of athletes in the women's 100m hurdles swept the podium. As Aalyiah Berry (13.22) ran the fourth fastest time in program history, she won with Kalani Witherspoon (13.28) crossing the finish line in the sixth fastest time in history, and Tori Goodson (13.74) rounded out the sweep.
