Streicher Returns To Augusta National Women's Amateur
March 31, 2026 | Women's Golf
For the second year in a row, Carolina's Megan Streicher is playing in the Augusta National Women's Amateur, which is scheduled for this Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday in Augusta, Ga.
                                                                                                                                Â
All players compete in the first two rounds on the Island and Bluff courses at Champions Retreat Golf Club, and on Friday in the practice round at Augusta National.
Â
The leading 30 players and ties after 36 holes advance to the final round at Augusta National.
Â
Streicher, a senior from Cape Town, South Africa, is 29th in the NCAA's Scoreboard/Clippd rankings and 41st in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Â
She is one of 16 ACC players competing.
Â
Streicher is Carolina's all-time leader in career, single-season and 18-hole scoring. She holds the career record of 72.14 strokes per round (the only player in school history to average below 73.00) and has compiled three of the four-lowest single-season averages by a Tar Heel.
Â
She set the single-season scoring record as a sophomore in 2023-24 at 71.83 and is on pace this season to break that record. Through seven starts, Streicher has four top-four finishes and is averaging 70.90 strokes per round.
Â
Streicher tied for third last week in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in O'ahu. Earlier this season, she placed second in Wilmington in the Landfall Tradition, finished fourth in the season-opening Folds of Honor Collegiate and tied for fourth in the Chevron Collegiate.
Â
The two-time All-ACC honoree has led the Tar Heels to team wins this season at Landfall and the Chevron, among the seven team titles Streicher has helped Carolina compile in her four years.
Â
Streicher shot 74-72 in the 2025 ANWA.
Â
Golf Channel will broadcast the first two rounds of the 2026 Augusta National Women's Amateur from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
Â
NBC will televise the final round from Augusta National on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
Â
This is the seventh year of the Augusta National Women's Amateur. Spain's Carla Bernat Escuder won the tournament in 2025 with three rounds of 68 for 12-under 204.
