Women's Golf Opens In Minnesota In The ANNIKA

Carolina women's golf heads to Minnesota for the first tournament of the season as the Tar Heels make their debut in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M.
The 12-team field will compete Monday through Wednesday, September 7-9, at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
Founded in 2014, the ANNIKA Intercollegiate honors legendary Hall of Famer and 10-time major champion Annika Sörenstam.
The 2026 field includes UNC, Auburn, Houston, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, South Carolina, Southern California, UCLA, Virginia and defending champion Wake Forest.
Carolina enters the season ranked No. 26 by Golfweek and No. 28 by Golf Channel.
Eight of the dozen teams in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate are ranked in Golf Channel's top 30, including No. 2 USC, No. 7 Wake Forest, No. 9 Auburn, No. 10 South Carolina and No. 11 Oregon.
Carolina's experienced lineup features two seniors and three juniors who have made more than 100 combined college starts. The lineup includes seniors Ing Iadpluem (Surat, Thani, Thailand) and Reagan Southerland (Atlanta, Ga.) and juniors Marie Prats-Rigual (Perpignan, France), Katie Vu (Fairfax Station, Va.) and Helen Yeung (Clarksville, Md.)
Yeung (72.81), Iadpluem (73.38) and Southerland (73.40) ranked second, fourth and fifth, respectively, in career stroke average by a Tar Heel. Southerland's scoring average last season (71.85) is the third-best in Carolina history, while Prats-Rigual (72.15), Yeung (72.45) and Iadpluem (72.48) turned in three of the eight-best ever.
Last season, Carolina won a pair of team titles at the Landfall Tradition and the Chevron Challenge. The Tar Heels beat Wake Forest in match play in the ACC Championship, finished second in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional and 15th in the NCAA Championship.
