Women’s Tennis Tops SMU, 4-2

DALLAS, Texas – No. 3 University of North Carolina women's tennis came back to top SMU, 4-2, on the road in ACC action. The Tar Heels improve to 3-0 in conference play.
Reese Brantmeier and Anna Frey were partnered again in doubles on court three. The duo raced to a 6-1 win. The other Tar Heel doubles dropped their matches against the Mustangs. SMU took a 1-0 advantage after claiming the doubles point.
SMU extended their lead to 2-0 after Amelie Van Impe defeated no. 1 Reese Brantmeier. The loss marks Brantmeier's first of the season.
The Tar Heels closed the gap by one after no. 70 Anna Frey picked up a dominant win (6-2, 6-1).
No. 100 Theadora Rabman evened the score after earning a straight-set win over Adddison Comiskey (6-3, 6-3).
With the score at 2-2, a win from no. 6 Oby Kajuru gave Carolina the edge after topping her opponent from SMU (6-4, 6-0).
After a tight first set, no. 17 Tatum Evans downed no. 66 Sophie Llewellyn in the second, 6-0, to clinch the match for the Tar Heels.
