Swimming Posts Three Carolina Top 10s At UNC Invitational On Wednesday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina swimmers kicked off the UNC Invitational by posting three Top 10s on Wednesday. Both Mary Macaulay and Ava Muzzy hit their marks in the 400 IM, while Samantha Armand did so in the 100 breaststroke.

Macaulay posted a personal-best 4:08.08 to hit the NCAA standard and move to No. 3 all-time at UNC. Muzzy blew past her previous personal best with a 4:10.23 that placed her at No. 7 all-time. Armand turned in a blazing 59.77 to move up one spot into a tie for third all-time.

In addition, Emma Karam hit the NCAA standard in the 200 back with a 1:53.65.

The Heels will be back in action on Thursday for day two of the UNC Invitational. Action will begin at 5 p.m. at Koury Natatorium.
