Gymnastics Heads West For ACC Competition

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 15 University of North Carolina gymnastics heads west to face no. 17 Cal in ACC action Friday night. The meet is set to begin at 10:30 p.m. ET with streaming available on ACCNX.Â

The Tar Heels previously clashed with the Bears twice last season. The teams met at Elevate the Stage where Cal came out on top 197.200-195.625. UNC and Cal also competed at the 2025 ACC Championships. The Bears came in second with the Tar Heels right behind in third.Â

Carolina looks to build off the momentum from a huge win at the Metroplex Challenge, topping two ranked teams along with Boise State.Â

The team will continue to follow the lead of JoJo Valahovic and Gwen Fink as they return to ACC competition. The pair is coming off an impressive week where Valahovic was tabbed ACC Specialist of the Week and Fink posted another career high and all-around event win.Â

Valahovic earned the ACC weekly honor for the second consecutive week after posting a 9.900 or higher on vault for the fifth time this season. The sophomore also tied her career-high of 9.950 on beam against NC State.Â
