Colton Sands Runs Fourth-Fastest 3K In NCAA History

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Carolina now has three of the fastest 3000m times in NCAA history, as Colton Sands (7:34.05) ran the fourth fastest 3000m time in NCAA history at the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston. Sands now has the third fastest time in program history. Last season, Ethan Strand and Parker Wolfe set the first two fastest 3k times in NCAA history and program history in Boston as well.
Carolina also had three more athletes move into or up the Carolina record book. Tomer Tarragano (13:27.37) moved into third all-time for the 5000m in Boston. Skylar Bohlman is now tied for seventh all-time (15.02m) for the women's shot put at the Tiger Paw Invitational where she finished in third. Maddy Kelley moved up from tenth all-time to 5th with a massive jump in the women's pole vault at Liberty as she finished in second.
