Carolina Rewrites Record Book On Valentine's Day

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Carolina welcomed four new all-time entries into the program record book at three different meets on Valentine's Day.
Vera Sjoberg (4:29.14) and Sydney Masciarelli (4:32.05) ran the first and second fastest mile times in program history. Sjoberg broke Brie Felnagle's 2009 school record. The record fell in Winston-Salem at the ASICS Sound Invite.
Also at the ASICS Sound Invite, Aiden Neal (1:48.99) ran the fifth fastest 800m time in program history, and Kosi Umerah (21.08) improved on her own existing third all-time mark in the weight throw at the Tiger Paw Invitational.
In her 800m season debut, Makayla Paige (2:01.10) ran the fifth fastest time in the NCAA at the ASICS Sound Invite. Paige was the only collegiate athlete in the field and held her own.
