• Carolina has won three in a row, including two straight on the road (Virginia and Georgia Tech). UNC is 3-3 on the road this year.
• The Tar Heels had 21 assists and two turnovers. The two turnovers equal UNC's all-time single-game record (also vs. Fairfield in the 1997 NCAA first round in Winston-Salem and against Duke on 2/8/2018).
• The two turnovers were the fewest ever by UNC on the road.
• The Tar Heels set a school record for fewest turnovers in consecutive games with six (four at Virginia and two at Georgia Tech). The previous low was 11 (1982 ACC Tournament vs. NC State and Virginia and 2023-24 vs. Duke and Clemson).
• Carolina also set the school record for fewest turnovers in three consecutive games with 14 (eight vs. Notre Dame, four at Virginia and two at Georgia Tech). The previous low was 20 twice (2021-22 vs. Syracuse, Duke and Virginia, and earlier this season vs. USC Upstate, ETSU and Ohio State).
• Carolina committed both of its turnovers in the first half and had none in the second half. It was the first time UNC didn't turn the ball over in a half since the second half of the win over NC Central on 11/14/2025.
• The Tar Heels outscored the Yellow Jackets, 18-0, in points off turnovers. It was the first time an opponent did not score any points off UNC turnovers since Fairfield on 11/15/2015 (UNC committed 10 turnovers in that game vs. the Stags).
• Caleb Wilson scored 22 points and set two UNC freshman records. It was his 21st consecutive game scoring in double figures, the longest streak to begin a career by a freshman and it was his 15th 20-point game. Rashad McCants held the previous record for double-figure games to start his career (20) and Tyler Hansbrough had the record for 20-point games (14). Hansbrough was on the radio call of today's game on the Tar Heel Sports Network.
• Wilson also led UNC with five assists. It was the 15th time in 21 starts he led UNC in scoring, the seventh time he led the team in
assists and the sixth time he led in both scoring and assists. He has led Carolina in points and assists in four of the last five games.
• It was the third time this season (third time in the last eight games) Wilson scored 20 or more points with five or more assists (22/6 against Florida State, 22/5 vs. Notre Dame, 22/5 at Georgia Tech).
• Henri Veesaar tied Wilson for the team lead in double-doubles with his 11th of the season. Veesaar had 20 points, a game-high 12 rebounds and four blocks. It was the seventh time Veesaar has led UNC in rebounds.
• It was the sixth time Veesaar scored 20 or more points this season and the fifth time both Wilson and Veesaar scored 20 or more.
• Veesaar led all players in plus/minus at plus 29. It was the seventh time he led UNC (team high) and was the eighth time he was plus 20 or better. It came one game after he was minus 8 at Virginia, which equaled his worst plus/minus of the season.
• Seth Trimble was 8 for 14 from the floor and scored 18 points. It was his 10th double-figure scoring game in his 11 starts this season. Trimble has averaged 17.0 points in the last two road wins.
• Luke Bogavac played one of his best games. He scored 16 points, which tied his second-highest output of the season, was a plus 16, and had three assists and no turnovers. He was 6 for 10 from the floor and matched his season high with three 3FGs (3 for 7).
• It was the second game in a row and sixth time this season he made three 3FGs.
• Bogavac was a plus 16, his best in an ACC game.
• Carolina made eight threes, while Tech hit seven. The Tar Heels have won the last 20 times they have made more three-pointers than the opponents.
• UNC is 12-2 this season and 71-11 under Hubert Davis when it scores 80 or more points.
• UNC is 5-1 this season and 37-3 under Davis when it scores 90 or more.
• Carolina outscored the Yellow Jackets in all five specialty stats, the first time the Tar Heels have accomplished that in an ACC game this season (last time was against ECU on 12/22/25).
• The 18-0 margin in points off turnovers was the largest this season (outscored ECU, 26-9, and Virginia, 19-2).
• The Tar Heels have outscored their last three opponents (Notre Dame, Virginia and Georgia Tech), 44-6, in points off turnovers.
• Carolina scored 44 points in the paint, the most since UNC scored 48 against Kansas on November 7.
• The Tar Heels scored 20 second-chance points, third-most this season (22 at Kentucky, 21 vs. Wake Forest, 20 vs. the Yellow Jackets, all wins).
• Carolina's bench outscored Tech's non-starters, 26-18. It was the fourth straight game and sixth time in the last seven games the Tar Heel bench outscored the opponents.
• The Tar Heels made 11 of 12 free throws. Carolina's percentage of .917 was the highest of the season.
• Seven Tar Heels had two or more assists and five of the seven did not commit a turnover.
• The Tar Heels led 52-37 at the half. The 52 points were the most by UNC in any first half this season (51 in the season opener vs. Central Arkansas). It was UNC's largest halftime lead in an ACC game this season.
• Over the last two games, Carolina scored 50-plus points in consecutive halves (51 in the second half at Virginia and 51 in the first half vs. Georgia Tech).
• Carolina has scored 80 or more points in six of the eight ACC games and 90 or more in three of the eight (90 at Stanford, 91 vs. Notre Dame and 91 at Georgia Tech).
• Carolina improved to 74-28 all-time against Georgia Tech, including 18-14 in Alexander Memorial Coliseum/McCamish Pavilion.
