North Carolina football's Coleman Bryson, Tom Maginness and Jordan Shipp have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team, the conference office announced Friday.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team include a 3.0-grade point average for the previous two semesters and a 3.0 cumulative average. Additionally, the student-athlete must have been enrolled at their current institution for at least one year and classified as an undergraduate student. Student-athletes must also compete in at least 50 percent of their team's athletic contests.
Maginness earns the honor for a third consecutive year, while Shipp claims his second selection in as many years as a Tar Heel. In his first year at Carolina, Bryson secured his first All-ACC Academic Team mention.
Bryson appeared in all 12 games for Carolina, recording 17 tackles and two pass breakups. He tallied 11 solo stops and six assisted tackles. The Waynesville native had his best game of the season with four tackles, all solo, against Virginia. Bryson is a junior majoring in exercise and sport science.
Maginness graduated in December 2025 with a degree in exercise and sport science. He served as the team's punter and holder in every game this past season. Maginness punted 56 times, the fifth most in the conference, totaling 2,389 punting yards, which ranked fifth in the ACC.
The Melbourne, Australia, native averaged the sixth-most yards per punt in the conference with 42.66. He had 23 punts called for a fair catch and 18 downed inside the 20-yard line. Eleven of Maginness' punts went for 50 or more yards, headlined by a 60-yard punt against Clemson.
Shipp was the Tar Heels' leading receiver with 60 catches for 671 yards and six touchdowns en route to earning All-ACC Honorable Mention honors during a breakout sophomore season. His 60 receptions and six receiving TDs were the sixth most in the ACC and his receiving yardage was 14th in the conference. Shipp found the end zone in four of Carolina's last five games compiling 351 yards on 31 catches during that span.
Hailing from Charlotte, Shipp recorded his first multi-touchdown game against Richmond with four catches for 52 yards and a pair of scores. He had a career-long 55-yard touchdown run against Stanford to lead the Tar Heels to the victory.
Shipp is a sophomore majoring in communication studies.
