
Cross Country Announces 2025 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina cross country will open its 2025 season at the end of August.Â
The Tar Heels are coming off a 2024 season that featured sustained team and individual success. The men's team secured a strong sixth-place finish, marking its third consecutive top-10 finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The women's squad delivered an impressive 11th-place finish. The team brought home four All-America honors, and Parker Wolfe made history as the first male Tar Heel to earn four career All-America honors.
The team will look to open the season with its fifth straight win by both genders at the Charlotte Opener in Charlotte on August 29. Carolina will stay local and head to Cary, N.C., for the Adidas XC Challenge on September 19.
The Tar Heels will spend October in the Midwest, starting with the Loyola Lake Front Invitational in Chicago, Ill, on October 3. Two weeks later, they'll head to Madison, Wis, to compete at the Nuttycombe Invitational on October 17 before the postseason.
Cross country opens the postseason by competing for the ACC Championships in Louisville. The Tar Heels will make the short trip to Charlottesville, Va for the Southeast Regional Championship and look to punch its ticket for the NCAA Championships in Columbia, Mo.
