August 14, 2025 | Women's Soccer
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – United Soccer Coaches announced the 2025 Women's Hermann Trophy Watchlist Thursday afternoon. The list is comprised of just 43 division I soccer players, including two from the University of North Carolina women's soccer program. Tessa Dellarose and Kate Faasse represent the Tar Heels on this season's watchlist. Both seniors played an integral role in the team's national championship run last season.
Dellarose heads into her senior season after earning Fourth Team All-America and Second Team All-Atlantic Region honors in 2024. The midfielder was also named to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches Midfielders Watchlist. Dellarose has compiled five goals, 10 assists, and 20 points throughout her career.
Faasse headlines the watchlist as the reigning Hermann Trophy winner. After a breakout junior season, Faasse became the 20th national player of the year in program history. The forward was the nation's outright scoring leader with 20 goals and ranked second with 44 points. In 2024, Faasse was also awarded the Honda Sport Award for Soccer, TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Year, First Team All-America, First Team All-Atlantic Region, and First Team All-ACC. Faasse was also named to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches Forwards Watchlist.Â
Both players were named Preseason All-ACC.
The prestigious Hermann Trophy is presented each year by the Missouri Athletic Club to recognize the National Player of the Year. This is the highest individual honor for women's soccer collegiate athletes and determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.
