April 3, 2025 | Fencing
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior Eli Lippman was named the 2025 ACC Men's Epee Fencer Of The Year by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Thursday, April 3.
Lippman is the second Tar Heel men's fencer to win this award since Reza Merchant did so in 2021 and fourth fencer overall.
Lippman bookended his career by winning the ACC Championship in Men's Epee in his freshman and senior year. Lippman entered as the ninth seed overall. He went 4-1 in the pool portion of the tournament as he earned the number one seed before going undefeated in the elimination section and winning his second career title.
His performance as an individual and as part of the team competition also earned him the Most Valuable Player award, which gave Carolina back-to-back ACC Championship MVPs as Boris Muga won in 2024 as a freshman.
