Porras Wraps Up 2025 Junior Fencing World Championships

WUXI, CHINA - Cristian Porras competed for Guatemala at the 2025 Junior Fencing World Championships and finished 42nd overall. Porras posted a 5-1 record in the pool, earning the 25th seed out of the 156 fencers.Â
He entered this competition as the 57th-ranked junior foil fencer in the 2024-25 season.
In the first round of the elementation portion of the tournament, the freshman faced Alejandro Lorenzo Pereira from Spain and defeated him 15-6.Â
Porras fell in the next round 15-12 to Almos Balint from China, who was the 33rd rank junior fencer heading into the competition.
