Iadpluem 2nd, Women's Golf Finishes 3rd In Chattanooga

Ing Iadpluem tied for second place to lead the North Carolina women's golf team to a tie for third after a 36-hole final day on Saturday in the Chattanooga Classic at the Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn.

The runner-up performance was Iadpluem's third-straight top-four effort for the sophomore from Thailand. She placed second on March 11 at the Yale Invitational West in La Quinta, Calif., and fourth in mid-February in the Moon Golf Invitational in Sarasota, Fla.

Iadpluem shot 70-76-73 for a 3-over 219 total, tied with Virginia's Jaclyn LaHa, Wisconsin's Carly Carter and Chloe Chan and Florida's Paula Francisco. That group was two strokes behind the medalist, Anna Cañado Espinal of Duke, who finished 1-over 217.

Florida won the team title at 15-over 879. The Gators were 10 strokes better than second-place Virginia (+25). Carolina (294-307-289) and Wisconsin tied for third at 26-over 890 and Duke was fifth at 28 over.

Carolina's Reagan Southerland (74-76-73) and Katie Vu (74-75-74), playing as an individual entry, tied for 15th at 7-over 223.

Megan Streicher (78-75-71) tied for 19th at 8-ver 224, Helen Yeung (72-83-76) tied for 46th at 15-over 231 and Marie Prats-Rigual (80-80-72) tied for 51st at 16-over 232.
