CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Diego Jarry won the clincher for North Carolina in a 4-3 men's tennis win over No. 25 Miami on Friday at the Chewning Tennis Center, capping a match that lasted nearly four hours of back-and-forth action.
Trailing 5-4 in the third set, Jarry picked up a break on Leonardo Dal Boni to tie the set at 5-all, then won the next game to take a 6-5 lead. He then broke Dal Boni again to win, 7-5, as his teammates mobbed him on the court afterward.
"That was the best we've played this year so far," head coach Sam Paul said afterward. "The guys have been working really hard, and I'm proud of them."
Carolina won its third consecutive match to improve to 12-6 overall this season, including 6-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Miami dropped to 11-7, 4-5 ACC.

After the Hurricanes' Martin Katz and Antonio Prat topped Vladislav Melnic and Chris Xu, 6-4, at No. 1, Nick Mangiapane and Constantinos Djakouris clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 decision at No. 3, dominating the tiebreaker by a 7-2 score.
