Men's Tennis Blanks Mustangs, 4-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—North Carolina men's tennis completed a perfect weekend on Sunday afternoon, beating #56 SMU, 4-0, at the Chewning Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels also blanked Boston College, 4-0, on Friday as they improved to 8-2 at home this season. UNC is 11-6 overall and 5-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Mustangs lost their third match in a row and fell to 12-13, 1-7 ACC.
Senior Diego Jarry won the clinching singles match, topping Noah McDonald by a score of 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 6 slot to complete the 4-0 victory.
The Tar Heels won a tight doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. Vladislav Melnic and Chris Xu picked up a ranked win at No. 1over #76 Georgi Georgiev and Ofek Shimanov, 6-2 to start off the day. Constantinos Djakouris and Nick Mangiapane won the clincher at No. 3, over Vikas Deo and Xavier Calvelo, 6-4.
In singles play, the Tar Heels got wins from Xu at No. 4, Patrick Schoen at No. 2 and Jarry. Schoen made his first dual match singles appearance of the spring and cruised in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2.

• The Tar Heels will continue their four-match homestand when they host Miami and Florida State on Friday and Sunday, respectively, next weekend.
