Track Qualifies Nine For Finals On Day Two Of ACC Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The second day of the ACC Championships was quite successful for the Tar Heels, as they qualified nine athletes for finals. Carolina only competed in preliminary events to determine qualifications for tomorrow's finals.
The men's squad sits in second and the women are in twelfth.
The women's mile qualified three of four possible runners for the finals on Monday. Aiden Neal was the lone Tar Heel mile runner to advance to the finals.
All three hurdlers advanced to finals as Aaliyah Berry (8.29) won her heat while Kalani Witherspoon (8.30) and Blaise Atkinson (7.87) qualified based on time. Witherspoon moved into fifth all-time.
Makayla Paige (2:02.50)Â won her heat of the 800m while also producing the fastest time of the day moving her onto the finals.
Andrew Regnier (1:49.37) finished in fifth and moved into the finals based on his time in the men's 800m to end the night.
