Georgia Tech Tops Men's Tennis, 4-0

ATLANTA, GA.—Georgia Tech won the doubles point and swept the first three singles decisions, beating North Carolina by a 4-0 score on Sunday afternoon at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
The Yellow Jackets, ranked No. 42 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings, improved to 12-4 overall this season, including 5-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. No. 53 Carolina fell to 9-4, 3-3.
Tech won two of three doubles matches to start the afternoon. UNC's Diego Jarry and Anthony Wright took the the first doubles match, 6-3, at No. 2 over Christophe Clement and Krish Arora. The Yellow Jackets responded with wins at both No. 3 (over Constantinos Djakouris and Nick Mangiapane) and No. 1 (over Vladislav Melnic and Chris Xu) to take a 1-0 lead.
Georgia Tech followed with singles wins at No. 1 over Melnic, No. 5 over Mangiapane and No. 3 over Wright to clinch the team victory.
Carolina returns home next weekend and will host Boston College on Friday March 21 at 3 p.m. at the Chewning Tennis Center.
