Knoxville, Tenn. – The University of North Carolina's PJ Foy set a school record in the 100 butterfly to lead the Tar Heels on day one of the Tennessee Last Chance meet on Friday. Foy became the first UNC swimmer to ever go sub-45 in the event with the new top time of 44.91. His mark is tied for 21st nationally this season and moved him past teammate Boyd Poelke, who set the previous mark of 45.11 in 2023.

Colin Whelehan smoked a 1:41.45 in the 200 fly to move to No. 2 all-time at UNC. The new personal best ties him for 26th nationally in the event this season. JT Schmid clocked a 1:41.25 in the 200 back to move to No. 3 all-time at UNC.

Sophia Frei and Maren Conze both set new personal bests in the 200 back to finish 1-2 on the night. Frei clocked a 1:52.64 to remain No. 4 all-time at UNC, while Conze lowered her No. 6 all-time mark to 1:53.29. Georgia Nel set a new personal best of 48.29 in the 100 free to move to No. 5 all-time in the event.
