Track Sets Two DMR School Records

BOSTON/BLACKSBURG, Va.- Â North Carolina track and field kicked off its final regular season weekend with two school records in the distance medley relay at Boston University on Friday, Feb. 21.
Virginia Tech ChallengeÂ
Gracie Bolick (17.56m) had a career series in the weight throw as she had three personal best throws throughout tonight's field series, taking second and moving into tenth all-time in UNC history.Â
Kalani Witherspoon (8.36) and Evie Culbreath (8.58) both advanced to the finals in the women's 60m hurdles, as Witherspoon won her heat. Both Tar Heel runners PRed in the finals. Witherspoon won the race and moved into a tie for eighth of all-time in UNC history, and Culbreath took third.
All three Tar Heels in the women's 400m finished in the top five including a win by Jocelyn Johnson (55.75).
BU Terrier DMR ChallengeÂ
Alyssa Hernandez (2:04.81) jumped up the Carolina top ten in the 800m as she moved into fifth all-time.
The men's and women's distance medley relay races were ones for the record books as both squads set the school record. The men's team ran the third fastest time in the NCAA this season, while the women ran the seventh fastest to close the night.Â
