Men’s Soccer Places Four On All-ACC Teams

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina men's soccer team earned four All-ACC recognitions, the league office announced on Wednesday. Dylan Kropp and Luca Nikolai claimed second-team honors, while Jack Sandmeyer was named to the third team. Immanuel Mathe joined them with a spot on the All-Freshman team.
A senior defender from Powell, Ohio, Kropp joined the Tar Heels this season after spending his first three years as a standout at Xavier. He's led a backline that ranks 14th nationally in clean sheets, while adding a goal and an assist on the season.
Nikolai, a junior from Düsseldorf, Germany, transferred in from James Madison and has been a key cog for both the defense and the attack in 2025. He's scored three goals and tallied six assists, while helping the defense produce eight shutouts on the year.
A graduate student from San Diego, Calif., Sandmeyer has been a rock in the central defensive midfield this season. He's helped break up play for a defense that has produced eight clean sheets and dominated in the air thanks to his 6'6" frame. Sandmeyer also has a goal to his name this year.
Mathe, a Burnaby, British Columbia transplant, has shown savvy beyond his years during his inaugural campaign in Chapel Hill. A stalwart at left back, he's locked down wingers on his side while initiating attack with darting runs through the midfield.
