ACC Women's Golf Championship Begins Thursday

The 2024 ACC Women's Golf Championship will be played April 18-21 at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, N.C.
This is the first time Wilmington is hosting an ACC Championship. The format for the tournament is all 12 teams will play 18 holes of stroke play on each of the first three days with the top four teams advancing to match play on Sunday, April 21, with the semifinal matches commencing at 8 a.m.
Both the semifinal and championship matches will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
The Tar Heels are the No. 6 seed in the ACC Championship based on the current NCAA/Scoreboard rankings.
The complete seeds (with national rankings) include: No. 1 Wake Forest (3), No. 2 Duke (8), No. 3 Florida State (18), No. 4 Clemson (21), No. 5 Virginia (24), No. 6 UNC (28), No. 7 Miami (47), No. 8 Virginia Tech (50), No. 9 Louisville (51), No. 10 NC State (65), No. 11 Notre Dame (73) and No. 12 Boston College (96).
Carolina is paired with Clemson and Virginia in Thursday's opening round, which will begin on the first hole at 9 a.m.
The Tar Heels enter the ACC Championship after winning the NC State Match Play in Raleigh April 8-9, when UNC defeated Augusta (5-0), Virginia (3-2) and Virginia Tech (3-2).
Sophomore Megan Streicher (Cape Town, South Africa) and fifth-year senior Kayla Smith (Burlington, N.C.) both won all three of their individual matches. Freshman Reagan Southerland (Alpharetta, Ga.) and sophomore Inez Ng (Singapore) went 2-1.
Freshman Ing Iadpluem (Thailand) joins Streicher, Smith, Ng and Southerland in the lineup at the ACC Championship. Iadpluem shot 68 at the Old Course to win her match against Vanderbilt in the St Andrews Links Collegiate at the Old Course in Scotland in October. She also shot 68 in the final round in Gainesville in the Gators Invitational.
Streicher leads Carolina in stroke average this season at 71.15 per round, which is on pace to set the single-season UNC record. Her career average of 72.46 is also on pace to set the school record.
Streicher, ranked No. 65 in the country, has led UNC in each of the four spring tournaments, finishing fourth at the UCF Challenge, T4 at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational, T11 at the Gators Invitational and fourth at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawai'i. Streicher is a combined 16 under par in those four starts.
Smith, No. 101 in the country, is Carolina's single-season and career stroke average leader and a two-time All-ACC honoree. She averages 71.73 per round this season, which would also break her existing school record of 73.00 set in 2022-23. Smith has two wins as a Tar Heel, including the St Andrews Links Collegiate at the Old Course.
Carolina has won the St Andrews Links Collegiate and the NC State Match Play, finished second in Hawai'i and third at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the Governors Club in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels won the ACC title in 1992 and 2011. They tied for ninth last year at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro. Streicher had UNC's best individual finish as she shot 73-71-74 to tie for 12th at 2-over 218.
