Tar Heels Set To Compete In NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—University of North Carolina standout distance runners Parker Wolfe, Ethan Strand, Alex Phillip, and the Men's DMR relay team will all compete at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday.
Wolfe will compete in the 5,000-meter and 3,000-meter events. This season, he set school records in both events, clocking times of 13:13.61 in the 5000m, which ranks as the fourth-best time in the country, and 7:37.41 in the 3000m, placing him third nationally. Wolfe achieved a 5th-place finish and All-American status at last year's Indoor Championships in the 5000m.
Strand will compete in the mile event, while Phillip will join Wolfe in the 5000m. Strand's season-best mile time of 3:54.62 ranks 12th in the country, while Phillip's 5000m time of 13:27.83 ranks 20th.
On Friday, Â Strand will compete in the preliminary mile at 4:00 pm. The mile final, if qualified, would be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday.
Additionally, on Friday, Wolfe and Phillip will compete in the 5000m final at 5:20 pm, followed by the DMR Final at 6:00 pm.
Saturday will conclude the indoor season for the Tar Heels, with Parker Wolfe competing in the 3,000m at 5:00 pm.
The championships are being held at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts.
