Men's Tennis Opens ACC Season At Home This Weekend

The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will open Atlantic Coast Conference play for the 2024 season this weekend with a pair of matches at the Chewning Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels, ranked #48 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll, will host #37 Georgia Tech on Friday at 4 p.m. and #68 Clemson on Sunday at 2 p.m. Sunday's match will be a doubleheader with the UNC women, who will play at 11 a.m.
Carolina is 6-3 this season and 6-1 at home. Earlier this week, the Tar Heels dispatched Furman, 6-1, on the outdoor courts at the Chewning Tennis Center in the first outdoor action of the season. UNC has won three matches in a row as it enters ACC competition.
The Tar Heels will host four ACC matches on the first two weekends of conference play. After playing the Yellow Jackets and Tigers this weekend, Carolina will welcome Virginia and Virginia Tech on Friday March 8 and Sunday March 10, respectively.
