Carolina Picks Up First Outdoor ACC Win At Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- In its first ACC outdoor dual match of the season, the No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels (8-2) quickly put themselves in position to get back in the win column against No. 33 Florida State. The Tar Heels defeated the Seminoles 5-2 in Tallahassee on Friday evening.
The Tar Heels began doubles play with three new pairs on each court. On court one, Elizabeth Scotty and Carson Tanguilig won 6-4 to give UNC the doubles point advantage. Shortly after, Fiona Crawley and Reilly Tran won 6-3 to clinch the doubles point and give Carolina a 1-0 lead entering singles play.
In singles play, Fiona Crawley and Reilly Tran won in straight sets to give UNC its second and third points of the day. Later, Thea Rabman collected a win on court six to give UNC its fourth point and clinch the match for North Carolina.
Despite already clinching the match, Anika Yarlagadda picked up a 7-5, 6-2 victory on court three.
