Women's Golf Finishes 6th In Mason Rudolph Championship

The University of North Carolina's women's golf team shot 1 over par Sunday to finish sixth of 18 teams in the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt's Legends Course.
Freshman Reagan Southerland led UNC with a final-round 2-under-par 70. The Alpharetta, Ga., native tied for 16th place at 4-under 212 with rounds of 69-73-70. Sophomore Inez Ng also tied for 16th after shooting 71-69-72.
The Tar Heels shot 282-283-289 for a 10-under-par 854 total, the fourth-fewest strokes and fourth-lowest 54-hole score to par in school history.
Vanderbilt won the team title at 24-under 840, three shots better than Auburn. Top-ranked South Carolina was third at 16 under, Arizona State was fourth (-13), Ole Miss fifth (-11) and the Tar Heels sixth.
Carolina defeated several higher-ranked teams, including No. 5 LSU and No. 15 Kentucky.
Caitlyn Macnab (69-67-68) of Ole Miss was the individual medalist at 12-under 204.
For the Tar Heels, Crista Izuzquiza (70-72-74) tied for 30th at even-par 216 and Kayla Smith (73-70-74) and Megan Streicher (72-72-73) both finished tied for 35th at 1-over 217.
Carolina returns to competition October 9-10 when it hosts the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the Governors Club in Chapel Hill.
