CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After earning a dramatic come-from-behind grand slam walk off over Elon on Wednesday, the Carolina softball returns to action to host the ACC/B1G 10 Challenge from Feb. 17-19. The Tar Heels welcome Virginia, Maryland and Minnesota to Anderson Stadium for the three-day tournament.

All games featuring Carolina will be streamed on ACCNX, while neutral site games will not be broadcasted.

vs. Maryland

Although Maryland and North Carolina didn't play against one another, both teams opened their seasons at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Mexico
Kianna Jones spent her freshman and sophomore seasons at Minnesota prior to transferring to North Carolina in 2022
Kiersten Licea already has already tallied more hits (7), RBIs (3) and runs (4) in 15 at-bats this season than she had in 32 at-bats in 2022
Destiny Middleton, who leads the team with eight hits, has recorded at least one hit in all five games to open the season, including back-to-back-to-back two-hit outings
Bailey McCachren, who is 2-0 in the circle, has not allowed an earned run in 12.1 innings of work to open the 2023 season and her Tar Heel career. She is also the only Carolina pitcher who has not allowed a walk. McCachren and Lilli Backes lead the team with eight strikeouts each

Go4TheGold
Carolina Softball is teaming up with Go4theGold to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer. The Tar Heels will be wearing gold shoelaces all weekend.

There will also be a silent auction going on all weekend long with proceeds benefiting UNC Children's Hospital. The auction will conclude at the end of game one on Sunday afternoon, and winners will be announced at that time.

Weekend Promotion

Superhero Sunday - wear your best superhero costume to our 12:30 p.m. game against Maryland. Children will be able to run the bases following the conclusion of the game.
