Aho & White Dominate In Split-Meet Saturday For T&F

NASHVILLE, TENN. & BOSTON, MASS.—Jack Aho set a school record and Brianna White won her second event of the weekend as members of the University of North Carolina indoor track and field teams concluded their weekend's action at the Music City Challenge and David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday.
Aho's record-setting finish in the men's 3000-meter run came in 7:49.19 at the Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
In Nashville, Tenn., at the Music City Challenge, White continued her brilliant weekend by winning her second event win in two days. She won the women's 400m seeded race in 53.55 seconds, moving into No. 3 all-time at UNC in the event.
Other key finishes for the Tar Heels on Saturday included Ava Dobson as the team's top finisher in the women's 3000m. Dobson snared fourth place in 9:18.20, moving into the No. 10 slot on the all-time UNC top performers list.
Carolina flashed its lineup depth in the women's 3000m. In addition to Dobson in fourth place, Fatima Alanis (9:22.61) finished 11th, Sasha Neglia (9:23.32) was 12th) and Natalie Tyner (9:30.59) finished 16th.
In the women's triple jump, Isabel Maletich posted a season-best effort of 12.38 meters, finishing fifth.
