Volleyball Drops Three-Set Match To No. 5 Louisville

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina volleyball team (15-11, 7-8 Atlantic Coast Conference) fell in straight sets (25-22, 25-11, 25-18) to No. 5 Louisville (24-2, 14-1 ACC) on Sunday afternoon in Carmichael Arena.
The Tar Heels were held to a .055 hitting percentage and a season-low 31 kills, while the Cardinals hit .323 with 39 kills.
Mabrey Shaffmaster was the sole Tar Heel with double-digit kills at 10, while Kaya Merkler had a team-best .235 hitting percentage with nine kills.
Defensively, Maddy May and Karenna Wurl each had seven digs, while Skyy Howard, Liv Mogridge and Merkler each had a pair of blocks.
Neither team was able to get much going on the service line, with Louisville tallying three aces and Carolina serving two, one from Babic and one from Charley Niego.

The Tar Heels travel to Tallahassee for their final regular-season road match of the season, taking on FSU on Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
