More Record Book Rewrites For Carolina T&F

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After an impressive Day 1 on Friday at the Indiana Relays, the UNC track and field teams continued to revise the program record books on Day 2. Competing at the Hoosiers' Gladstein Fieldhouse on Saturday, the Tar Heels picked up wins in the women's 60m dash, men's mile and men's shot put.
Brynn Brown, the 2021 ACC Freshman of the Year in cross country, is off to a fast start in track as well. She placed third in the 3000m in 9:11.91, the fourth-fastest time in program history and fastest since 2008.
UNC took the top two spots in the men's mile, with Jesse Hunt crossing in 4:01.28 and Ethan Strand in 4:01.52.
In the women's mile, Carlee Hansen placed second in 4:42.31, a time that ranks ninth in program history.
After winning long jump on Friday, Anna Keefer added another victory on Saturday, running the 60m dash in 7.41.
In the men's heptathlon, Isaac Young turned in a career-best performance with 5001 points, his first time over 5000 and the ninth-highest total in program history.
