UNC Finishes Second in NC State Quad Meet

Final Results
RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina placed second in the NC State Quad Meet on Saturday with a score of 195.600 behind NC State (196.025) but ahead of Towson (194.475), and Pittsburgh (192.125).
It was the highest score in North Carolina's second meet of a season since posting a 195.300 Jan. 19, 2018.
Hannah Nam recorded a career-high 9.875 on the beam, while Elizabeth Culton led the Tar Heels with a 9.950 in the first rotation. Jamie Shearer posted a 9.775, Hallie Thompson a 9.750 and Brianna Greenlow a 9.675. After the first rotation, the Tar Heels paced the field with a 49.025.
North Carolina remained in first place after the second rotation on the floor in part to Shailyn St. Brice and Culton's 9.800 scores. Kate Green and Nam recorded a 9.775, while Greenlow posted a 9.750. After the second rotation, the Tar Heels combined for a 97.925.
On the vault, Hallie Thompson scored a UNC-best 9.825. Emery Summey recorded a 9.800, while Drew Aldridge (9.750), Greenlow (9.650), and Jamie Shearer (9.600) rounded out the Tar Heels in the third rotation.
The Tar Heels finished on the bars Saturday night and were led by Culton, who finished her night with a 9.850. Green impressed on the bars with a 9.825, while Hallie Thompson ended her evening with a 9.800. Shearer placed fourth among the Tar Heels with a score of 9.725 while Emery Summey posted a 9.675.
The Tar Heels return to competition Feb. 19 in a quad meet that will feature Pittsburgh, LIU Brooklyn, and host Towson.
