Tar Heels Welcome Elon for Midweek Contest

CHAPEL HILL – Wrapping up the final regular season tournament of the 2020 season, North Carolina returns home to Anderson Stadium to face Elon Wednesday at 4 p.m. before beginning league play vs. Pittsburgh.

About Elon (7-6)
After sweeping the Elon Softball Phoenix Invitational during the second week of the season, Elon is coming off a winless weekend at the Gamecock Invitational. Senior Kenna Quinn is 4-0 in the circle while both sophomore Megan White and freshman Megan Grant are batting over .340.
Series (streak): North Carolina leads, 32-15-1 (lost two)
Last meeting: Elon won, 7-3 on Mar. 3, 2018 in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Recently for North Carolina (6-9)
Despite the 1-4 outcome last week, the Tar Heels tallied six home runs and 10 stolen bases to up their season total to 10 and 33, respectively. North Carolina concluded non-conference play at the UNCG Invite, falling short in the weather-shortened tournament to Purdue, Fairfield and UNCG. Despite the winless weekend, the Tar Heels made strides at the plate, tallying 20 hits.
» Sophomore Lexi Godwin registered two multi-hit games during the weekend, including a home run.
» Campbell Hutcherson upped her single-game career-high to four RBI with a two-run double and home run.
» Destiny Middleton, Abby Settlemyre and Hannah George also logged multi-hit games at the UNCG Invite.
