Yarlagadda Completes Shutout Of #10 Michigan

Chapel Hill - Freshman Anika Yarlagadda clinched the winning point to give No. 2 North Carolina a 4-0 victory over No. 10 Michigan at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
This match marks Carolina's 25th straight win at home, and it's fifth win in the last six years over the Wolverines.
The opening doubles point was decided on court three with Carolina's sixth ranked duo of Sara Daavettila and Alexa Graham sweeping the Wolverines, 6-1. Cameron Morra and Elizabeth Scotty also beat their opponent, 6-1, on court one. The Tar Heels have yet to drop the doubles point this season.
Scotty won both of her sets 6-3, 6-2 to widen the lead to 2-0. #8 Graham displayed great resiliency on court one by falling behind by wide margins in both sets. After being down 4-0 in the first set, she came back to win, 6-4. In her second set, Graham was down 5-1, before rallying to win seven straight points to grab the second set, 7-5.
To clinch the shutout win for the Tar Heels, Yarlagadda won in straight-sets, 6-2, 7-5, on court six.
Carolina's next home match will take place tomorrow at noon against No. 13 Vanderbilt. Admission is free.
