Tar Heels Finish Tied for Fourth After Weather Shortened Tournament

MACON, Ga. - The North Carolina women's golf team finished in a tie for fourth place at the Brickyard Collegiate at the Brickyard Golf Club by shooting 13-over-par in what turned out to be a 36-hole tournament rather than the initially planned 54.
Mariana Ocano, competing as an individual, finished in a tie for 7th, and was the highest finishing Tar Heel after a combined two round score of 1-under-par.
Leading the way for the team, junior Brynn Walker finished 9th. Walker's tournament was highlighted by her 1-under-par 73 in the opening round.
Narrowly missing out on the top-10, freshman Jennifer Zhou had a cumulative tournament score of 1-over-par and finished in a tie for 13th.
Sophomore Ava Bergner placed in a tie for 17th, Kelly Whaley and Nicole Lu both tied for 40th.
The Mercer University Bears earned the team victory after compiling a 1-over-par team performance.
The Tar Heels will be back in action at the ACC Championships at Sedgefield Country Club on April 18.
