UNC Bounces Back With Convincing Win Over Michigan
April 6, 2017 | Women's Tennis
North Carolina (21-2) switched up its doubles lineup against the Wolverines and it worked like a charm with a pair of 6-1 wins on court one with No. 87 Hayley Carter and Sara Daavettila and on court three with Rachael James-Baker and Jessie Aney.
Roughly midway through singles play, the ominous weather that created swirling winds all afternoon finally brought rain at 2:30 p.m. that forced the match indoors.
Within minutes of moving to the indoor courts, Chloe Ouellet-Pizer added to Carolina's advantage with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Valeria Patiuk on court six.
No. 3 Carter made it 3-0 with a decisive 6-2, 7-6 (5) win over No. 22 Brienne Minor on court one, and Jones later secured the win on court five.
Michigan falls to 13-4 overall on the season.
UNC visits Notre Dame on Sunday at 11 a.m.
