Carolina Moves Into ITA Indoor Quarterfinals

North Carolina (8-0) will face LSU in Saturday's quarterfinal match at 1 p.m. ET. The Tigers upset the No. 6 seed Oklahoma State Cowboys 4-3 Friday.
The doubles point went in easy fashion to the Tar Heels. On court two, #16 Jessie Aney and Kate Vialle posted a 6-0 shutout of Danielle Spielmann and Joanna Nena Savva. Aney/Vialle are now 13-3 this season.
Second-ranked Hayley Carter and Whitney Kay clinched the opening point on court one with a 6-2 victory over No. 48 Erin Routliffe and Andie Daniell. The Tar Heel duo's outstanding season continued as they improved to 17-2 on the year with their 12th win in a row.
The early momentum continued over into singles play. No. 68 Aney was first to post a win for Carolina - 6-0, 6-3 - over Spielmann on court four. Aney is now 15-5 in her rookie season with the Tar Heels.
Fellow freshman and 112th ranked Chloe Ouellet-Pizer made it 3-0 minutes later with a 6-2, 6-2, win over Aryn Greene on court six. She improves to 16-5 in singles play with her fifth win in a row.
#6 Carter shut the door on the Crimson Tide with a 6-1, 6-3, victory over #63 Routliffe from court No. 1. The junior All-America has won 12-straight singles matches and improves to 24-2 on the season.
Alabama falls to 2-1 on the season.
