Lucas: Rapid Reactions

1. Carolina got a 95-50 win over Radford in a nice bounceback from Wednesday's loss at Indiana. That being said, there are probably only two things anyone will ever remember from this game:
2. The status of Joel Berry. The junior do-everything guard left the game in the second half with an apparent sprained ankle that had the Smith Center crowd completely silent. Berry didn't return, but also didn't have to, since the lead had already reached 27 points at the time he exited. If there has to be a nagging injury, this is probably the time, since Carolina will be at home for almost two weeks before traveling to Las Vegas to face Kentucky.
"It's a sprained left ankle," Roy Williams said after the game. "That's all they are calling it but we will take x-rays to make sure."
And the other is:
3. The career-high 19 points of Kenny Williams. The sophomore had broken his career high at the first media timeout, and played a solid game all over the floor. Remember when Dean Smith used to talk about how the biggest jump for a college player came between his freshman and sophomore seasons? Coach Smith might have known what he was talking about.
"I'm really happy for Kenny," Roy Williams said. "He's worked extremely hard."
4. Tony Bradley hasn't had that major wow game yet, but the freshman continues to be very impressive in the minutes he gets. Bradley posted a double-double (10 points, 11 boards) in his 20 minutes of action.
5. Berry's absence opened the door for Seventh Woods to get a career-high 22 minutes. The freshman did some good things on his way to a career-high nine points and occasionally looked explosive, but he also had five turnovers. Remember: point guard is the hardest position for a freshman to learn in the Roy Williams system. Woods will get there.
6. Nice day to limit the minutes for the starters and give the reserves a chance. Justin Jackson logged the most minutes (27) of any starter, with everyone else at 25 or fewer. Meanwhile, the UNC bench scored 38 points, vastly outscoring the Highlander bench (38-16).
