CLEMSON, S.C. - News and notes in the aftermath of Carolina's 74-50 win at Clemson to open ACC play for 2014-15:
• Carolina improved to 11-3 this season and 1-0 in ACC play, winning its conference opener for the first time in three seasons.
• The Tar Heels committed just six turnovers, tying their fewest in 12 seasons under head coach Roy Williams (doing so for the fourth time).
• Clemson did not score a point off a Carolina turnover. The last time a Tar Heel opponent failed to score a point off turnovers was Jan. 31, 2012, against Wake Forest.
• The UNC defense held Clemson to 28.3 percent shooting from the floor, the lowest percentage by a Tar Heel opponent all season and the third-lowest by Clemson in Littlejohn Coliseum. Carolina has held 13 of its first 14 opponents under 40 percent shooting.
• In the first half, the Tar Heels held Clemson to 17.9 percent shooting from the floor and 17 points, both of which were season lows by UNC opponents in any half all season.
• Carolina had 11 assists on 14 first-half field goals while Clemson had just five first-half baskets and 15 in the game. Carolina finshed with 20 assists on 28 buckets in the game.
• UNC shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the first half, the third time in four halves Caroina had shot at least 50 percent.
• Carolina's 24-point win to open ACC play was its biggest win in a conference opener since a 26-point victory over Florida State on Jan. 7, 2007.
