• Carolina improves to 12-4 overall and 2-1 in the ACC.
• This is the first time UNC has played consecutive one-point games since the 1981 ACC Tournament. Notre Dame beat UNC, 71-70, on January 5th. In 1981, the Tar Heels beat Wake Forest, 58-57, in the semifinals and Maryland, 61-60, in the ACC championship game (March 6-7, 1981, in Landover, Md., and the Capital Center).
• This is Carolina's first one-point win since beating NC State, 85-84, in Raleigh on Feb. 26, 2014. Marcus Paige hit the game-winning shot today with 8.5 seconds today. Last year in Raleigh, he beat the Wolfpack with a shot with 0.9 seconds to play in overtime.
• The Tar Heels led in the second half today for a total of one minute and 25 seconds. UNC had four different leads in the second half, none for more than 32 seconds.
• Carolina is now 6-0 all-time against Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino (3-0 vs. Kentucky and 3-0 vs. Louisville). Roy Williams is 4-1 against Louisville (3-0 at UNC).
• Carolina is now 2-0 all-time against the Cardinals in Chapel Hill and 10-3 all-time against Louisville.
• Kennedy Meeks led the Tar Heels in scoring with 13 points and in steals with three. He is 11 for 12 from the free throw line in the last two games.
• Brice Johnson had 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, eight on the defensive boards. It was his second double-double of the season and fourth of his career.
• J.P. Tokoto continues to lead the Tar Heels in assists this season. Tokoto had five assists and zero turnovers today. It was the 10th time this year he has led UNC in assists, the fifth time this year he had five or more assists and the first time since the win over UCLA on Nov. 27th that he did not have a turnover.
• Justin Jackson had eight points, four assists and a season-high three blocked shots.
• Nate Britt scored eight points and had two steals in a season-high 21 minutes. He matched his career high with two three-pointers, both in the first half, and came up with a key steal with Louisville leading by 10 points with 6:22 to play that led to a Marcus Paige three-pointer.
• Louisville led by 13 points (63-50 with 8:25 to play. The last time UNC trailed by 10 in the second half and won was the home win over Duke last year. The Blue Devils led by 11 with 14:49 to play, but UNC won, 74-66, on Feb. 20, 2014.
• Carolina's 12 turnovers equal the fewest forced by Louisville this season. Wake Forest also committed 12 turnovers.
