UNC Head Coach Mike Fox
On the construction of the lineup:
"I have no idea. I may play a totally different one tomorrow. I mean it doesn't matter what order right now, we got to compete a little bit better. We were just overmatched tonight for the most part. We didn't hit enough balls hard even to really give ourselves a chance to score any runs but we were also giving the other team opportunities to make pretty easy plays. We just didn't hit the balls hard, it wouldn't matter what order we hit in tonight from the way I saw it."
On the team's margin for error
"It's very slim. That's to the point that in the second inning, you know did that really happen? All we're trying to do is waste that pitch with two strikes, just trying to climb the ladder and see if he'll chase one. Then we will go back and throw the next pitch, which struck him out on. We just climbed the ladder too high and we don't find it and there you go. That wasn't the end all of the game, we still had plenty of opportunities left. They just beat us, they just beat us soundly.
On rebounding later in the series:
"Well these three-game series it's just that, we turn around in short time tomorrow and good teams have good leaders who are mentally tough. They are ready to play tomorrow, it's one game. That's the way you look at it. It doesn't matter if we lost 5-4 or 5-0 or whatever the final was, 7-0. A loss is a loss so you've just got to regroup and realize you'll be right back on the field tomorrow."
On feeling pressure to win late in the season:
"Not really pressure I guess. At least not personally, you can't put any kind of pressure on yourself. At this point in the season you have to say 'it is what it is' and go out every day and play like it's the last game and win every game we can. That's the type of attitude you have to have when you're at this point in the season. I think that is the attitude for the majority of the team, don't try to put any extra pressure on yourself, just go out there and try to win each game one at a time."
FSU Head Coach Mike Martin
On Luke Weaver's pitching performance tonight:
"Luke gave us everything we needed tonight, and I am just so proud of the fact that he is what he is. There was never a thought of what happened last week. He knew what he needed to do to help his team. He was in complete control the seven innings he was out there. He's just a guy that is such a big part of our baseball team, and I am very proud that we were able to accomplish what we did tonight."
On Ben DeLuzio's speed and scoring from second base on a wild pitch by Trent Thornton:
"[DeLuzio] was going to be safe anyway, but at the same time, to score from second on a wild pitch just gave us the momentum that we needed. He can put fear in the other club. He had third stolen too. He just has that ability to put that uneasiness in the other dugout when he gets on."
On DJ Stewart's performance at the plate tonight:
"DJ had a big night, no doubt about it. He was a very, very big part of this ball game. We needed this ball game."
On clinching the ACC's Atlantic Division:
"Well, we're excited, but at the same time, we have six ball games left, and they are all important to us. This isn't the major leagues where we start changing our pitchers and all that. We are trying to get something back."
