Ranee Premji
On scoring the winning goal with three minutes to play:
"From what I remember it went outside to Courtney [Jones] and she was going to cross it, so I decided to go near post and hopefully it would hit me and it did, so it worked."
On what it was like to play with Rachel Givens going down with an injury again:
"Well we have had some starters that have been injured, so it was another big loss. Fortunately, she was just coming back and was playing really good, so hopefully she comes back soon."
On beating Florida State and where it positions the Tar Heels in the ACC:
It's a good win for sure, especially since we lost both games [to FSU] last year. So it was good to win, hopefully we can beat Miami here on Sunday."
Head Coach: Anson Dorrance
On Premji scoring her first career goal:
"I think Ranee's scoring range is one or two feet, so I think that close to goal she has a chance."
On Premji replacing Ali Hawkins for most of the year:
"Actually in terms of the game at the highest level, Meghan Klingenberg and Ranee Premji play high. What they do that makes them unique is they see the play. They get it, they make a decision. Those two make a decision quicker than anyone else. Ranee has a great understanding of the game, she has wonderful close control, and she's an excellent short passer."
On halftime adjustments:
"The issue we were dealing with, we were certainly the better team. But we had to have more composure in our strike for goal and our final pass. I think that was the worst part of our game today, we weren't composed."
Courtney Jones:
On pass to Premji for the game-winning goal:
"I picked out Ranee, she was running. It wasn't supposed to be in the air, but it worked."
On leading the team in assists:
"If I can do anything to help this team score and win a game, that's totally fine. And leading in assists gives other people a chance to score and I think it's awesome."
